Default London 2012: Olympic torch relay sponsor's vehicles unveiled

Sorry if I sound like a grumpy old man (it's because I am) , but in my view this Olympic's is running away with money that could be better spent on other more needed things.

It's all about bread 'n circuses, firestorm... bread 'n circuses.

I can't believe with the obesity problem we have in this country that they're letting Pepsi Cola be part of the parade. But then, on the other hand, I can believe it. It's entirely in line with what I've come to expect.

It's funny how grumpy one gets as one gets older, isn't it?

A sprinting buddy of mine sheepishly admitted that just over a decade ago he drank a Pepsi between the 100 meter and 200 meter. Yes, he experienced a severe hamstring pull in the second race. No athletes will drink that garbage during competition.

And here I thought I was just being typically irascible.

yes it's entirely in line with the modern world to let companies like this highjack events like the olympics

Here's why I think we get grumpy as we get older.

It feels like you're chained to a seat in a movie theatre, having to watch the same old mad caper scenes over and over and over again. And so you know that if the black Mercedes in the shoot-em-up car chase goes down that blind alley, it' s going to hit a brick wall. You know it because you've seen it a million times. You try to yell out, but no-one listens to you because you're old and irrelevant. You want to jump into the film to persuade the driver to stop, but you can't. And added to that, you're starting to ache all over from having to sit for so long.

So you feel uncomfortable and irrelevant and bored.

It's enough to make anyone grumpy.

Plus, somewhere in the middle of all that, you need to visit the loo!
